Vinyl Record Collectors Association Assists Non-Profit
The Vinyl Record Collectors Association (VRCA) recently donated US$1,000 to the Atlanta-Montego Bay Sister Cities Committee, a non-profit organisation with 18 affiliated cites worldwide.
The Atlanta branch of this organisation is affiliated with Sister Cities International whose honorary chair is Barack Obama, president of the United States.
The relationship between Atlanta and Montego Bay was established in 1972. It is the second longest relationship that exists between Atlanta and the 18 foreign cities.
The organisation provides health care free of cost to those least able to afford it. Through many volunteer doctors, nurses, other health care professionals and the assistance of donors like VRCA they have conducted annual missions to Montego Bay providing care to approximately 40,000 underserved residents and have donated an estimated J$115 million in medicine and supplies to their patients.
