Ferdie "Lovebird" Brown - Toronto

Ferdinand Brown affectionately known as Ferdie Brown, born in Jamaica and migrated to Canada years ago and is now retired.

My love for music was embedded in me at an early age by my family and friends that has allowed me to become a music host and presenter on several Internet Radio stations.

Being a soccer coach for 34 years and my work experience has allowed me the experience in working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.

I have been interacting in a positive way with Canadian Members of VRCA, associating with them for over 40 years.

I have had the chance to observe VRCA’s development through the years, seeing them grow into the strong group they are today.

Errol DaCosta - Jamaica

Errol has been a collector of music from the age of fourteen growing up in the UK. This includes Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Reggae done by all races.

As one grows up, one becomes more selective and diversify in ones taste for music. Music is one of my main hobbies today.

Music was very instrumental in the funding of the various programs  we had in the early days organizations especially for the youth where we had Saturday & Sunday schools for black kids who were sent to ESN (Education Sub-normal Schools).

We would have various music fund raising event to help these and other programs for black youths in London.

I returned to Jamaica at the age of thirty-seven  and been listening to music from various sources and over the last ten years listening to members of VRCA and the contribution that VRCA made to Education is very inspiring.

Being a member of VRCA is a pleasure as I enjoy what I like doing - playing and collecting music and the expansion of VRCA’s charitable deeds.
