Anthony Warren - New York

Anthony has been collecting vinyl a large part of his adult life ....which is a long time!!! He has retired from the construction business and now helps out on small projects when needed.

In the early days he got interested in music listening to his mother’s Pye Radio, where stations like the BBC, Armed Forces and Jamaica’s own ZQI were his favorites. His first Dance hall attendance was with his mom at Progressive … she was a member of the Lodge at Progressive on North ST.  Anthony migrated to USA in 1973, making contact with old acquaintances thru the years. He remembers Pail Hutton’s first record store on Utica Ave …. he didn’t like to go there … too much security!!! Paul’s Hempstead Ave store was much better and he would buy (read sold!) the same record twice … once for each side… of course sold by Paul. Paul introduced him to much new music through the years. He is an avid lover of Blues and Doo Wop.

His first LP purchased in Jamaica as  Classics Up to date with James Last. His interest in VRCA peaked when Paul  et al were getting involved with Internet streaming on Supreme Vibz in the early 2000s. He is a dedicated supporter and helper of the VRCA NY chapter and will be an outstanding asset to the organization.
