Kishman Spence

Kishman’s love affair with music began as a young boy growing up in East Kingston and tuning into RJR, fervently recording his favorite tunes onto cassette
tapes. Notably he grew up on West Avenue which was home to the awesome Arrows International Sound System - so music was always a consistent part of
early life, at home and in the community. This spark evolved over the years into a diverse collection of CD’s and vinyl LPs, spanning the 1950s to present. Kishman’s collection spans over 1,500 LP’s (no
45’s). With a soft spot for 80s RNB, Reggae, and Soft Rock, Sam Cooke's soulfulvoice holds a special place in his heart. Influenced by hanging out at Steve's Place
(Molynes Road) and becoming part of the line up of collectors at Cable and Wireless’ "Back A Bar” group. For a while Kishman operated a small sound system
called “Old School Machine” playing at Round Robins and Birthday Parties, learning music at the feet of the now deceased Raymond Parker (from Wild
Bunch).Beyond music, Kishman's community spirit shines. He is a Legion of Honor member with 25 years of dedicated service to the Kiwanis Club of North St
